Model: CPE220
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 2.2.1 Build 20190620 Rel. 61512 (0000)

Hi,

I have just installed CPE200 to cover my garden with WiFi. I have specifically bought this router because it should support Passive PoE passthrough on LAN 1 port accordinf to the tech specs. The reason is that the LAN cable on the house's soil was used to connect m Ubiquit Dome 3 camera so I though I will connect the camera to LAN1 port of the CPE220 and it will work. However the camera does not work as there is no PoE output power on LAN 1 port, neither I can find "enable PoE passthrough" in the router's web management console.

So simple qusestion: is there PoE passthrough on CPE220 v3 or not?

Dear @Jumperr,

I'm afraid not. The PoE passthrough function has already removed from the new version of Pharos CPE, only V1 supports it.

Besides, it's recommended to check the datasheet of the specific hardware for the supported feature.

Dear @Fae ,

thanks for reply, it is really a pity. In fact, I did not find the Data sheet on the link you have sent, there are just installation and user guides there.

I hope that the CPE220 will work at least as a router/switch so there will be internet connectivity available on the LAN1 port. I will have to buy another PoE injector, connect it to LAN1 port and then connect the camera to it.

In this setup, should the CPE220 be in the "AP mode" or in a different one (like AP router)?

Thanks.

Dear @Jumperr,

In fact, I did not find the Data sheet on the link you have sent, there are just installation and user guides there.

It seems that the datasheet is not uploaded to your region's website, for the datasheet, you may follow the link below.

https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202003/20200324/CPE%20series-Datasheet.pdf

In this setup, should the CPE220 be in the "AP mode" or in a different one (like AP router)?

If there is a router existed in your network and the CPE220 can be connected to the router via Ethernet cable, AP mode is suggested.

The setup is like 1) Router ----- CPE220 in AP mode )))((( cameras. or 2) Router ----- CPE220 in AP mode ----- switch -----cameras.

@Fae Hi, thanks. My question was if the following configuration will work: router --- [LAN0] CPE 220 [LAN1]  --- PoE injector --- camera. I do not want to put additional switch between CP220 and the camera because I hope the CPE220 wil work both as a wifi access point and a LAN switch. I will give it a try today.
