@Fae Thanks for the update! How long after the controller release is the router release, typically?

I am subscribed here for updates on mDNS, but the amount of whining I have to endure from grown adults is really frustrating. Either use the product or don't. TP-Link has been pretty forthcoming with statuses as the feature has gone from not supported / not planned to nearing release. A lot of you sound like a toddler who was just told they can't have their sucker before dinner. Got a complaint? Share it calmy, rationally, and respectfully

I so that 2-3 Times. When a conpany then basically tells you that they don't give a sh... I don't anymore. I find it astonishing what paying customers find totally accetptable nowadays...

Where was that said? And even if it was, the response is then "This is a feature I need and that I feel should be included. I'm ditching TP Link and going with X." It's the whining and name-calling that makes the posters look like children.

I'm not going to gum up the forum anymore. Looking forward to the router update because I have lots of smart devices on an IoT subnet that will benefit from mDNS.

Well, one does not have to spell it out for me, if there is a certain behaviour (or in this case not). And no it is not a children behaviour if you buy quite expensive equipment, advertised as "business" stuff for hotels, airports and so on and then you cannot even use vlans correctly in a home setup. For me this is just misleading advertisemend and was a bad investment, which I cannot just simply return. Right now, I could just have kept my old router. Telling me to just spend 200 bucks on a pfsense device and be done with it: thanks. You wanna have my PayPal? Cause it seems like for you this is just pretty simple and you would have the money. And for me that is behaving like a child, if you cannot even put yourself in someone else's shoes.

@Ali311 not really. VLAN can talk each other thanks to InterVLAN routing and this is possible since beginning. This is another feature that repeat broadcast messages across VLANs, and actually is mainly required to let devices that uses Bonjour to be seen on different VLAN - e.g all Apple, Chromecast, airPrint.
