Model: EAP225-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 5.0.0

Hi,

I have a network with 3 APs (wired 1x 225-Outdoor , wired 2x EAP245v3 and OC200 controller) and I want to join another EAP-225 Outdoor with Mesh to make a bridge.

I've followed every instructions in the manual nothing works. (https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202012/20201223/1910012926-Omada%20SDN%20Controller%204.2.4-User%20Guide.pdf)

Last resort: I've factory reset the EAP-225 Outdoor but cannot be found by the controller UNLESS I am wired.

According to the manual I am supposed to see this :

However no matter how long I wait I never see this. All my other APs are running fine for years with the controller.

The 225-Outdoor I am trying to join wirelessly is within 10 meters of each Root AP. It is not out of range.

I've deleted my whole site and factory reset the OC200 controller. Redid all the site parameters by hand. Re-adopted all 3 APs. Network is fine but it still cannot detect the 225-Outdoor wirelessly.

If I connect to the temporarily wifi (just after a factory reset) on the 225-outdoor even Omada Phone App cannot find it. Green LED is slowly flashing.

What could be the problem ?

It's driving me nuts.

Thank you!

Laurent

@LBel

Hey

Can you confirm what version of the SDN Controller software is running on the OC200?

I know is quite a recent addition so you will likely need SDN software version 4.2.4 or 4.2.8

@LBel

Does someone have a better manual/procedure to make mesh networking work?

I've tried almost every way and I'm out of ideas.

Thanks!

Laurent

Thank you thank you! I didn't think of the mismatched frequencies between US and CAN device. In my case only channel 149 and upward was selectable. Maybe a good idea to update your userguide about mismatched region. Amazon Canada shipped a 2x EAP245 (US) and a EAP225-Outdoor (CAN).
