Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.1 Build 20210113 Rel.35074

Hello

My ISP delivers voice and data on two VLANS - VLAN100 (data) and VLAN660 (voice). From ER605 configuration, I can terminate VLAN100 with PPPoE for the data connection. However, I need to switch VLAN660 from the WAN port into my LAN port, so that my IP PBX (on VLAN660 on LAN network), can talk to the service provider voice server. So far, I have been using OpenWRT software, which allowed this configuration easily.

Currently, the ER605 prevents me from configuring more than one VLAN on the WAN port. And I cannot find any configuration to map the same VLAN on WAN and LAN ports (the configuration prevents it).

Can you please let me know how to configure my network?

I'm inserting my network topology diagram below.

Thanks

- Anand

@tellanand

This is related with the IPTV function of the router. As for the other model, such as TL-R600VPN and TL-R470T+, the IPTV function can help you set up two different VLANs from WAN into LAN.

But this function is deleted on this model ER605.

@John1234 - thanks for your response. That's sad indeed. Why would they delete such an important feature?

@TP-Link / @Fae - can you please add this feature back into ER605? I'm stuck.

This feature is essential for me as well, in my case vlans 300 and 640.

The whole reason why i wanted a separate gateway, was the rule out the generally shitty modems sourced by ISP's, my zyxel one is a complete power hog even bridged.

I wanted to use my managed switch as the media converter passing through the tagged vlans from the sfp port to the wan of the gateway, Which seems pointless now with this device. (the media converter delivered by the fiber ISP is an absolute power hog as well, why does it need 10w/h for converting fiber to copper.)

Sorry that I forget to reply here, it has been reported to the R&D team for evaluation.

It's planned to add the IPTV function back in the subsequent firmware upgrade, please pay attention to the new firmware releases.

BTW, I'll update this post once the new firmware release is available, welcome to subscribe.

[New Firmware] The firmware v1.1.1 has been released for both ER605 and ER7206 by August 9, 2021
