Wifi6: Worth the upgrade?
Hi,
Not having any client device yet supporting WiFi6 (might have in the short / medium term), is it worth to go for a Wifi6 capable EAP vs a just Wifi 5?
(Looking mostly at the EAP610 vs EAP245).

me as well. my old macbook, other stuff, no wifi 6 on them. but i still upgraded to wifi 6. it's the future-proof. there was one time that i wanted to get wifi6 e with tri-band. well, not too many options or way to costly for them.
someday, you gonna need the wifi 6 or tri-band. devices, they upgrade.
yep. they later optimized the size. i remember there are smaller size for all models because we(customers) complained the size. it is huuuuge.

I believe the 610 is also significantly smaller physically.
Other than that, can you afford the bleeding edge tech of the 610, if not the 245 will still do you proud.

@Tedd404 @d0ugmac1 Thanks for the reply!
re Size: Indeed! I had seen the old size and I was scared... Just saw now on the datasheet the 610 size is rather smaller than I had initially seen (and tiny bit smaller now than the eg. 245).
Giving the rather small price difference, I think I will go indeed for the 610 instead (wifi 6).
Wifi 6e is indeed too expensive for now.
