Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.1 Build 20210723 Rel.64608

Hello, I'm having issues with my router disconnecting from my network on a regular basis. The disconnects don't seem to cause connectivity issues for clients or other Omada switches or APs at first but eventually, the whole network falls apart unless I reboot the router. Today I encountered the issue and it seems the router is disconnecting every hour at the same time. Any ideas on what might be causing this issue?

  @OneBadGADawg

strange. check if there is dup ip address or conflict with your wan.

while it shows up as "disconnected" did you try and ping the gateway? if it is ping-able, it should be fiine. where is your controller?

meanwhile, upgrade your router to latest firmware.

I agree with some of @Tedd404's suggestions, also what controller are you using?
What is the exact firmware version?

Did you change any settings or upgrade any firmware on the device before the problem occurred?
Check the modem on the front of the router for any dropped connections.

Can you briefly describe how all the devices in your network are connected and where exactly the controller is connected?

Just striving to develop myself while helping others.

  @Virgo

I'm now seeing this with the ER605 V2. Dirt on finally in see readoption events in the log and then eventually the router disconnects permanently from the controller.

At this point the network still functions with no apparent impact on any devices or connectivity.

The only way I can get it to reconnect is to reboot the OC200 controller.

This is extremely frustrating as I bought the ER605 to consolidate and simply my network config. So far the reliability has been very poor.

I have two ER605 v1.0 version 1.2.1 that are doing this at two locations.

They keep disconnecting until I reboot the router.

It was happening at one location now it's happening at the second location.

Started happening about a month ago. Everything (router, switch, controller, APs) all updated with the latest firmware.

Not good.

  @Lurk I've started experiencing this with my ER605 v2.0. It disconnects once a day and brings the whole system down. And there isn't anything obvious showing in the logs. I'm on the latest firmware for the ER605 and latest controller software (running on an always on Windows PC). Starting to be very disappointed in this system. Hopefully there is an easy fix.

  @Lurk

We are almost the same. I have similar setup both in our house and in our office. The problem usually occurs 20-21 days of uptime. When you check logs, there will be a couple of router was readopted notice, then after some time, the router status will be disconnected but is still functioning but with some issues. The only work around right now is to schedule a router reboot weekly, at a convenient time when a few devices are connected and internet can be down for 5mins.

I always disable the scheduled reboot when I install a new firmware for the router or the controller hoping that it has fixed the issue but after 20-21 days, the issue comes back, so I reboot the router and enable the router reboot schedule again.

This started I think 4 months ago after a firmware update of both router and controller. Before, I can reach 150+ days of uptime without any problem.

I hope this gets fixed as scheduled reboot is not really a long term solution.

Came here to add I've been having the same problem randomly since the spring with my ER605 v1. Internet goes down, and rebooting only the ER605 fixes it.

  @OneBadGADawg I've had thus issue intermittently since I got mine (v1.0). I'm currently running firmware 1.2.0.

I have set it to auto-reboot once or twice a month. The idea is that this will help prevent whatever error is happening. I'm uncertain that it helps though.

This just started happening to our router 5pm on Tuesday. The route will disconnect several times a day even with reboots. We're a nonprofit with live in residents who have special needs. The disconnect affects WiFi throughout. But Ethernet stays stable till the whole system goes down and then pops back up.

We don't even use VPN functions on the router.
