Hello,

So I am new to the Omada SDN and Omada managed devices. I have a weird issue.

I have 2 eap670s setup in mesh mode.. The main one is using POE and a wired uplink from the main switch. The second one is meshed to that main one and it's also using POE. but it's using POE as a downlink to another switch to provide it with network access. This second one however is only connecting to the switch in 10/100 full duplex mode. it's not connecting in 1gbps mode for some reason. I am not understanding why. The switch it is connecting to is TL-SG2008P v1.0 So I know it's capable of 1gbps connection..

Is the ethernet port on the EAP670 limited to 10/100 when it's being used as a downlink?

Try replace your nework cable. but you say 10/100 that strange, do you men 100/100 ?

what happens if you force it to 1000 fdx do you loos connect to the switch?

@shberge No, I mean it's connecting in 10/100 only. I would assume it should be able to connect in 1000 mode right?

Yes if your network cable is ok that should not be a problem.

how long is your network cable?

Perform a quick test with a short good cable from the EAP670 into the same POE switch port.  If it comes up as 1000 you have your answer.

Note that many things can contribute to a reduced negotiation speed across a cable.  What the cable pre-fabricated, or did you cut and crimp yourself?  Do you have a cable tester to verify that all 8 pair are connected properly end to end?  Is the cable at least CAT5e rated...and are your connectors also at least 5e rated?  Was the cable installed with many tight bends or does it run adjacent to power lines or fluorescent fixture for any great distance?

@AbedJoud Besides possible faulty cable, have you verified whether or not it's a hardware issue. You should swap them around, to see whether the same issue occurs with the other one.
