Hi, 

 

I have the same problem described here: https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/212364

Frequently used ports get disabled from time to time.

The port statistics even shows packets received.

I contacted TP-Link support before with no solution.

 

When this happens I have to power off the switch and power it back on, that's not acceptable!

 

Is it a hardware issue? Can TP-Link replace this device?

It's hard to detect the issue with limited information. There are many things may cause a network "disconnection".

 

Are you able to Ping the gateway when the network "disconnect"? Will it happen if you setup static IP on your PC?

 

Have you checked the switch IP and make it different from your router?(default IP of the switch is 192.168.0.1)

 

Try to run a ping test continues from one PC to the router, or to another PC with static IP.

 

But it will be more easier if you have another switch, and just put that switch to the same location and test if it can work stable.

Make sure you don't have any loops in your connection to the switch...if you're using LAG between switches or router to switch, ensure that the LAG configuration is using the correct ports or the switch will disable any ports that are causing looping. Generally your switch will indicate whether it's blocking a port due to loop detection, so that one is more obvious and you likely ruled that out already.

 

If the switch is showing packets flowing through the port(s) you think might be disabled, it could be the device on the other end of the cable causing the problems. Try turning off "green ethernet" or "energy saving" ethernet in the driver of the devices (especially if they are Windows systems) as the driver sometimes doesn't handle energy-saving e-net properly. I've seen this happen a handful of times.
