Linux controller version 5.8.4 very slow using Safari browser
Since upgrading to v5.8.4, the UI has gotten very slow. It's slow all around but I notice it most on the client list when I'm trying to sort on columns, refresh, search, etc. I have around 50 clients but there was never a performance issue prior to upgrading to the new code. I have found that a Chromium based browser performs much better, like Safari used to. I've cleared all cache/data on Safari and this doesn't resolve the issue.
The same behavior is observed on a 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Pro and a 2019 iMac with Intel 3.7GHz Core i5, both running Ventura 13.2 and Safari 16.3. I also tested the latest Safari technology preview (release 162) with same slow results.

@SingletrackMind Hi! I found a solutions for this. Create a self-sign certificate for the Omada controller. Use this link for help https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VH4gXcvkmOY&t=1332s. Upload the certificate and the private key to the controller and to you MAC . Problem no longer here for me.

Holy cow! It's truly terrible on Safari (I use Opera by default on my iMac and hadn't noticed). I confirm this behaviour on Monterey 12.6.3 and Safari 16.3.

@SingletrackMind same here, already for days looking for a root cause thanks to this post it seems a bug in Omada software as indeed in Firefox it works like a charm! Hopefully there is soon a solution because it's extremely slow.

So here is their bogus response to my support case:
"We have upgraded part of the GUI design, and it is recommended using Chrome or Firefox to access the GUI.

I got a followup response after pressing them about fixing this bug:

Just updated to 5.9.9 and had the same issue on safari. On chrome is working fast. It's a shame.

I just started using Omada Controller recently and all these days were thinking how slow and laggy their web UI is. Holly cow that's a big difference between safari and chrome. Hope that gets fixed soon...

FYI, performance in Safari still sucks on controller code 5.9.31. This comes as no surprise since it wasn't documented to have been fixed, in yet a second code release since the problem first began.

@SingletrackMind and others...
Has anyone bothered to open a ticket with Apple yet? I mean, if Safari is the only browser with the issue then it's more likely a code issue on Apple's side. They've had previous issues with their renderers, just saying.
