I have 3 EAP610 connected in a mesh network on the exterior of my buildings(everything works fine).

In my living room about 25 ft from the EAP i have full wireless signal and im getting speeds of 25-40mbps,

but if i go to the end of my house (20 more feet), i get 4 mbps.

I tried adding a AC1350 Omada unit half way in the house and the signal is great, but for some reason the speed drops to 4 mbps.

If i remove the AC1750 the signal is about 90% and the speed remains the same.

So i know the problem isnt the access point.

ONe of the reasons for adding a AC1350 was to help boost the signal and maintain the speed of the network.

The hallway is not obstructed, its completely open. Is there anything i can add to increase performance?

Would a wireless powerline adapter work? And i guess do these adapters work on a Omada network.

If anyone has other suggestions i am open to them.

Thanks

Hey

I am guessing that on the controller you have enabled fast roaming and AI roaming?    Without this the devices wont move APs and that might explain the problem you are having, namely its sticking to one AP

Also band steering would be a good option, again under advanced options.

@Philbert i was looking at the settings for my omada controller (oc200) and i dont see those settings. Now im guessing the mobile app has a different setup compared to running the software on pc? Or does it matter?

Hey

Apologies for the slow reply, been offline a few days!

Yes the Omada app isnt bad, but it doesnt have all the features built into it.  To get the Advanced Features and enable roaming you will need to connect to the controller via IP using a browser

If roaming isnt enabled, this may be a big part of your issue :)
