Model: OC200   ER605 (TL-R605)   SG2210P
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.24.0 Build 20230328 Rel.52384 (Beta)

Controller

  • Model: OC200 v1.0
  • Controller Version: 5.9.32
  • Firmware Version 1.24.0 Build 20230328 Rel.52384 (Beta) [2023-04-07]

Router

  • Model: ER605 v1.0
  • Firmware Version: 1.2.2 Build 20230328 Rel.58400 (Beta) [2023-03-30]

Switch(es)

  • Model: TL-SG2210P v5.0
  • Firmware Version: 5.0.5 Build 20221130 Rel.42340

Before updating my OC200 v1.0 controller to Omada Hardware Controller V5.9.32 Beta, I was able to use IP-MAC Binding on my ER605 v1.0 router.

Now this option is not available anymore under 'Network Security'. When adding #ipMacBinding to the URL, the following message appears: Your current gateway does not support this feature, and the configuration page will be hidden:

Hi @Hank21, I just installed ER605 V1_1.2.3_Build 20230413 Beta and guess what? IP-Mac Binding is available again under 'Network Security'. Even including all settings I set before. So, the proof is there wink.

The only thing was that a new option 'Permit the packets matching the IP-MAC Binding entries only' is implemented (unlike in the previous beta) and checked, as a result of which the connection between the WAN-port of my ER605 router and my internet modem was completely blocked, because the IP address of my internet modem is not bound. So, however 'Permit the packets matching the IP-MAC Binding entries only' works, it would have been nice if this was mentioned in the release notes.

May I know the firmware version of OC200 and the ER605 v1 as you said above?

I'm afraid that ER605 V1 doesn't support IP-MAC binding in controller mode at present.

  @Hank21

ER605: ER605v1_un_1.2.2_20230328(Beta)

OC200: OC200(UN)_V1_1.20.1 Build 20220921

I definitely used to be able to set IP-MAC Binding on the two sites I have. After upgrading the ER605 to the latest beta it was still avalable. After updating the OC200, the option was gone.

I'm a little bit confused, as far as I'm concerned, ER605 V1 doesn't support IP-MAC binding.

Could you downgrade the firmware version of OC200 back to the original one and share a screenshot to show that?

 Hello together.

I have a ER605 V2 but in December 2022 I take it out from my network because it has to many trouble with disconnects.

A key feature for my config is the IP-MAB binding.

Do any body know if the ER605 V2 has the same troubles with config?

Greetings Thorsten.

As for the disconnect issue, there is a solution post you may refer to.

Hello  @Hank21

My controller has actually the Firmware 5.7.6 but if I have time I like to try the new V5.9.32 Beta.

My ER605 V2 hast the Beta from December and I has a lot oft trouble with my family about the unstable WAN connection.

So I change back to my Friitz!BOX Router an I use the TP Link Controler OC200 / 4 Switches / and 4 EAP's without Routing (Gateway) Function.

If the IP-MAC Binding and the WAN connection will be stable I like to try to use the ER605 V2.

That's a lot of configuration work and the my Cable Fritz!Box 6591 is then only for Telephone and Modem.

Greetings, Thorsten.

Hi @Hank21, I wanted to downgrade but that will mean that I will loose all my precious settings. It will take me too much time to revert to the previous version.

Can I ask you to reproduce yourself?

As mentioned I'm absolutely sure that IP_MAC Binding was available under 'Network Security' when my OC200 controller was at OC200(UN)_V1_1.20.1 Build 20220921. I also used IP-MAC Binding on my previous TL-R600VPN in stand alone mode. I set the ER605 in controller mode up in the same way.
