EAP110 low internet speed (4-5mbps)

EAP110 has low internet speed (4-5mbps) but is significantly higher bandwidth when wired connection is connected using the cable of the EAP110 (40-45mbps)
the unit is broadcasting 2.4ghz, 5ghz and 6ghz.
can anyone help?

The EAP110 is an older device and only supports 2.4ghz frequency (not 5ghz or 6ghz). It will sadly, therefore, be limited in speed as 2.4ghz is a very congested frequency.
To try and maximise this try the following, hopefully it will help.
- Change channels, instead of AUTO try 1, then 6 then 11 and see what is best for you.
- Switch channel width to 40mhz for max speed
- set transmit power to MAX or AUTO

IMHO the best way to fix low speed is to maximize power to the channel, which means the narrowest channel width possible (ie 20Mhz) and max power.
I would set up 3 of your 110 devices, one on each of Ch 1, 6, 11, each set at 20Mhz BW and Max power. Re-test at 2m and 5m of each. If you notice significant degradation of performance at 5m vs 2m, you are likely in a very noisy RF environment on at least that channel, and acquiring different APs that an leverage the more 'available' 5.8Ghz band would be advisable. I have had quite a lot of success with the 110's bigger brother the 225.

Are you sure that EAP110 only has 2.4GHZ?
because when we are configuring the SSIDs there are 5ghz and 6ghz selection.
thats why i assumed it has 5ghz and 6ghz capability

As Virgo was kind enough to post, its 100% only 2.4ghz
How are you configuring this? It could be whatever you are using can support all 3x bands, however it will only apply what it can support.
The best way for you to configure this device would be via the IP address of the EAP using the GUI (Web Interface)

If you can give us as much info as possible this would help, especially on how you have wired this up and other hardware. Im guessing however from your post that this is just a single AP?
If so then channel widths are not such an issue for you and you could stretch to 40mhz, this would certainly increase your speeds at the expense of airspace... however in a single AP setup its unlikely an issue

Hi All, Thank you for all the replies.
It is now cleared up. The Eap110 is controlled by OC200, so thats maybe why i saw the 5ghz and 6ghz settings and assumed it.
So basically its all because of the interference in the 2.4ghz frequency

In short, yes sadly!
2.4ghz is the origional frequency released for use with Wireless technology of all types and therefore is not specific to WiFi use, with that in mind its known to be congested beyond belief for most people.
If you really want faster speeds something like the EAP225 is fairly cheap now and can give you the 5ghz frequency and result in much improved performance, even in the worst cases it should be well in excess of 100mbps
Lastly, the OC200 will support a range of models therefore you will see configurations for 5ghz and 6ghz frequencies, however, this will only apply if the EAP hardware is capable.
