Model: EAP610-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 Build 20230509 Rel. 67330

Im have send an email to local TP-Link support (Malaysia), however im also ask here for other opinion and support

My 1st site is using 5 units of  EAP 225 Outdoor, 2  units of  EAP 225 Indoor, 3 units of  EAP 610 Indoor and 3 units of  EAP 610 Outdoor.  ER605 is new and not yet configured.

The problem is on 610 Outdoor.

Steps taken:

i. Already tried with firmware EAP610-Outdoor(US)_V1.2_1.1.3 Build 20230330 and latest 1.2.0 Build 20230509 Rel. 67330.

ii. Downgrade to EAP610-Outdoor(US)_V1.2_1.0.6 Build 20220415 with no success.

1. EAP 610 only function with cable LAN connected either via Poe switch or Poe Injector. When try to switch to mesh (with LAN cable disconnect), it just remain status “Disconnected”. How to make this EAP able to mesh with other EAP?. Surprisingly, EAP name AP_PPCLOG works fine with mesh via latest firmware.

2. EAP 610 with name AP_PPCLOG, is able to mesh with EAP 225 indoor, EAP 225 outdoor and EAP 610 indoor. Current configuration is mesh with name AP_LINE. EAP 610 cannot mesh with other EAP 610 same model. Does EAP 610 cannot mesh with same model?. Picture below AP_PPCLOG cant see AP_PRESS

3. EAP 610 with name AP_PRESS is wired connected. No issue occur. The plan is to mesh between EAP 610 from EAP AP_PRESS.

Hope my explanation helps.

Best Regards

Saiful

  @Team_ITD

I would try an experiment.  Reconnect one of the misbehaving 610's via LAN cable so that it can connect to the Controller again.  Then 'Forget' the device, and disconnect the LAN cable before it's finished it's reboot cycle (ideally about 10s after you click 'Forget').  The AP should come up and a few minutes later, should show again as ready to 'Adopt'.  Click adopt and see if it progresses through and remains connected as a Meshed unit.

  @d0ugmac1

We already have tried that, plus with:

- downgrade and upgrade the firmware.

- forget the device from controller and reset EAP 610

all steps with no luck. its weird why AP_PPCLOG works fine. The different is, all EAP 610 outdoor is upgraded to 1.1.3 after bought, except this one, where the firmware at that time is 1.0.6, which this is from my 2nd site.

The others from my 2nd site (4 units EAP 610 outdoor) is using firmware 1.0.4. FYI, my enquiry with subject is from my 1st site. So im having doubt to upgrade at 2nd site. Downtime in office and sub office is not tolerated. Now we switch with EAP 225 indoor, which what we have in hand
