Hello,

I need to install a router to create a barrier between the left and right sides of an existing LAN.
I can't change the addresses on either the right or the left side because I don't have access to the left side of the LAN and the computers on the right side have fixed IP addresses and the programs on them are configured in such a way that they will not work after changing these addresses.
Does anyone have an idea how to do this?

Not a good method, you are double natting.  With no access to main router, can't do NAT ( like host a site ).

Thanks for the answer :)

The right side doesn't need to see the computers on the left side,

and even it's good that left and right can't see each other.

It's just that the right side has internet access.

Will this work with two routers?

Hi @Tom_TxC 

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

One way or another, the diagrams you sent here are double-NATting anyway.

If you can change the network like #3, then, it should work perfectly fine just for the Internet.

What worries me is that the IP addresses on WAN and on LAN, should not be the same to avoid any unnecessary routing trouble. You can run tests with this setup and I think it's fine. Note that most routers can be connected like this. In very few cases, you can run into problems.

Hello again, thank you all for your help and answers. I didn't have the opportunity to test this connection in practice because the factory management did not agree to connect the Internet for remote assistance (security reasons), which we were informed about on site at the factory (during the machine assembly) :) Thank you once again and greetings to everyone :)
