Implemented DS-Lite (Dual Stak Lite) Support

Hello,
Most of the internet providers in Germany are only using a public ipv6 addrees and are tunneling all the ipv4 traffic through a provider gateway (AFTR). (Carrier NAT IPv4.)
In the TP-Link router ER707-M2 I have found no option to configure such a DS-Lite (Dual Stack Lite) connection.
I have found other threds in the community here which have exactly the same issue with other business routers
https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/537980
https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/547340
I was a little bit surprised that this feature is only available in TP-Link consumer routers but not in the business routers.
For a consumer router I have found the following FAQ
https://www.tp-link.com/no/support/faq/2483/
This feature request was created based on that thread
https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/621734
Please implement that feature also for the business routers.

Hi @nurix
Thanks for posting in our business forum.

V5.15.X.Y refers to a period of time which means in the V5.15 series, somewhere in its release, the requested feature will be added. It could be added to any version. I am not able to give any progress updates as I cannot get first-hand information from the dev or the project may be placed behind without an accurate version number.
Dev got their own schedule for developing features. Accepted features only mean the devs are aware of this and placed in the request pool. Not gonna guarantee you a specific version 5.15.A.B in its release.
Dev also takes care of our contract-customized firmware requests, tests, and debugs.
Please wait patiently and pay attention to the firmware releases on the official website or beta/Pre-Release on the forum. Thanks for your understanding.

@Clive_A Hi, will the DS-Lite Support also be released for the ER605 Router?

Much appreciated and a competitive no brainer since ISPs are going for it since quite some time and even my old Zxyel SBG3500 from 2014 was supporting DS-Lite!

This batch of new releases and pre-releases is an adaptation for V5.15.X.
And it has added DS Lite. I am not certain if the controller side has supported this yet. But based on an inside note, that's supported in this new release.
EDIT:
And, FYI, limited regions have released this firmware to support DS-Lite.
Universal firmware for all models for most regions and countries has not yet been implemented. So generally speaking, you don't have this function on your model, you are not in the region where that firmware is released.
Future universal firmware(no specified firmware version) will add support for all models in regions and countries.

@Clive_A I apologize, what batch of releases and pre-releases do you mean? Is it something that is being tested internally and prepared for release to the public audience soon? Thanks!

Hi!
The lack of of DS-lite integration is extremely frustrating (up to the point that I'm willing to ditch all my TP-Link hardware in favor of Ubiquti).
First I thought TP-ER7212 V1.0 is a pretty nice device, until I found out that it lacks DS-lite support as well as wireguard support.
Than, I still had an OC-200(UN) V1.0 and an ER605 V2.0 laying around, I recognized that the ER605 is capable of wireguard, but lacks DS-Lite support.
I digged through the web, including this support page, installed the latest prerelease firmware for the ER605 2.3.0 Build 20250428 Rel.18976, reset the device to get access to the integrated web interface (avoiding the controller having not implemented the DS-Lite function) only to find out...
It has NOT been implemented.
There is only one WAN setting, the 6to4 tunnel. But this cannot be DS-lite because this has to be something like 4in6 tunnel because of the CG-NAT tunneling the IPv4 traffic over IPv6.
So what is going on at TP-Link when even the cheapest consumer hardware routers support DS-lite for years no (it seems even TP-Link consumer hardware) but not the professional hardware series? And you cannot claim that this is a new topic, because the oldest post about this topic ist nearly 1,5 years old.
looking forward for you answer
BR Andreas

I'm also thinking about throwing away all my Omada hardware and switching to Unifi.

The Omada product is for a business environment. A business environment got public IPv4 and v6.
About ER7212PC, different products have different use cases. The product specs page has written down what it supports. If it does not fit, consider a different model.
There is no need to @ me and ask for a reason. I have limited dev information. And also not allowed to join a conversation or discuss why and how a feature is considered.
If you cannot wait for the firmware adaptation and adjustment down the road, or find the current solution does not fit your emergent and imminent setup, you may look for a different or cheaper consumer solution for your setup.
Thank you for your understanding.
