Model: EAP225-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: n/a

I´m using EAP225-Outdoor v3 several months now running OpenWrt. Now I need a extra AP at the other end of my ground. I want to buy the same device, but found, there is already a new hardware version v4 in the market. So I want to know, which changes between these variantes. Same problem I found with the indoor version of EAP225, v4 is supported by OpenWrt, but v5 is fundamental different with other (very new) chips not yet supported by OpenWrt neither by Linux.

Please don´t complain about OpenWrt, I´m using wifi roaming 802.11.r with different access points from different vendors, a feature TP-Link or Ubiquiti can´t provide.

I´m asking here about the differences, to determine the platform of the v4 device, if there is a OpenWrt image available.

Thx in advance

Go

  @Go63

Did you also post this issue on Openwrt forum? You can share something if you get the info, I'm also curious.

Just striving to develop myself while helping others.

I can do it. IMHO I should ask the vendor first, thats why I placed the question here.
