Model: EAP110-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 5.0.7 Build 20230410 Rel. 69645(5553)

hello everyone, I've been experiencing signal issues with my eap110-outdoor, I've deployed it in an open area far from walls and elevated at 4 meters from ground level, I've even tried to play with the antenna position I've also changed the channel to channel 11 which is the less congested and set the bandwidth to 40mhz with the tx power set to the maximum allowed by the device (22dBm), the eap110-outdoor that i deployed is used for security IoT's and even if the IoT's where just around a corner of a wall the signal dropped from 90mbps to 2 - 0,8mbps, the walls on the deployment site is 6-8 inch and is easily penetrated by an ordinary tp-link router but the eap110-outdoor cannot, I've used wifiman to troubleshoot the issue and is showing me that the signal drops from -35- / -45 dBm to -70 / -75 dBm from just going around a corner. any idea or solution would be appreciated.

P.s: Even if the signal dBm Drops to -70+dBm the wifi signal bars still reports of full or 4-bars

  @Proxxy This is not abnormal.

Think of your AP like a bare light bulb.  In the same room it is very bright (-35dBm) if you look directly at it, but go around the corner and it is a lot less bright (-70dBm) because all you see is the light reflected off walls.

The reason your bit rate drops so much is that the surrounding RF noise forces your device to choose a very low modulation rate, in order to overcome the interference.

Your best bet is to lock your channel width to 20Mhz, as making it 40Mhz just magnifies the problem quite significantly.
