Solution Upgrade Error "The upgrade file is invalid. Please select a correct file" Due to 32-bit Java(JRE)
This Article Applies to:
All Omada routers.
Issue Description/Phenomenon:
A very few users, when you upgrade to the latest firmware(or any firmware released after Dec 2023) from the current firmware(non-factory default), there is a chance that you failed to upgrade auto/manually and you might see the error "upgrade failed: The upgrade file is invalid. Please select a correct file."
Available Workarounds/Solutions:
If you are using the software Omada Controller, please make sure your installed Java on this system is 64-bit.
- Run "java -version" in Command Prompt and you should see your version. Even if it shows as 64-bit, we still recommend you do a clean reinstall.
- Perform a clean uninstall on your computer to remove any Java environment. Download the 64-bit and install it again.
This will fix your problem when seeing that specific error.
Thank you for your attention!
