Model: ER8411
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.6

Serial number for this router is Y2360W4000241

I have native vlan 1 as 192.168.0.1/24 with dhcp 0.101-0.250

Added an interface only on port 8 for vlan (8) as 192.168.8.1/24 dhcp 8.101-8.250

Port 8 is connected thru a switch to other network devices

When these devices request an ip address, they are obtaining one from 192.168.0.0 subnet instead of the 192.168.8.0 subnet

Why is this?

It needs to issue from the dot 8 subnet for anything arriving on port 8.

What do I need to do?

Hi @Networx

Thanks for posting in our business forum.
Because your VLAN config is incorrect in tagging and untagging. There will be a series of issues after you configure the port between the router and the switch. You have to configure the rest of the ports as well.

Downlink should be configured with VLAN, too.

See the Configuration Guide in the switch explaining the VLAN.
