I have a question about constructing a mesh with the EAP series.
 

Purpose :)

I would like to use one same SSID. Bandwidth is not greatly required, but continuity is important, so we are planning to construct a mesh. I also needed about the need for an external AP.
 

Q1) Is backhaul (not wireless) function possible without OC200 amada controller ? (Not wireless / Using another company's router )

Q2) What the article says is that there is no need for an omada controller and no need for tp link router? (wireless mesh mode)

Hi  @Moon2 

 

Yes, you can use a third-party router to connect EAP225. A wired connection also works. And compared to wireless mesh, wired backhaul will provide better performance.

You can give all the EAP units the same SSID and password, and most clients will be able to roam between them automatically.

 

With this connection, you don't need an Omada controller.
