Firmware Version:

Ok I am wifi bridging illiterate. Very Frustrating I think I'm getting old lol. I have an old Century link router with a cat5e from that to my first outdoor EAP225 outdoor wifi extender. Then I have the second EAP225 outdoor at a barn with a cat5e from that to a swtch with my solar batteries plugged into the switch. The distance is only 150 ft. I want to be able to watch my solar batteries. If there is another way to see that switch I am not aware. If there is already a thread about this please send me the link. Any help for this old timer  would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi  @YHWHFOLLOWER

To watch the solar batteries, is it only necessary for the solar panel to be connected to the network?

If so, you don't need the ER605 or the controller. Just configure the second EAP225-outdoor into RE mode according to the following instructions:

How to configure Omada EAP in Repeater mode

The connection would be as below:

router -------EAP225-outdoor ))))(((( EAP225-outdoor_RE mode----------switch----solar batteries

I am still doing a lot of research. It looks like I might need an Omada router(ER605?) and a controller(OC200?) Would these components get me there? Century link router to tplink router to controller to EAP225 Outdoor to barn EAP225 Outdoor-tplink switch(TP-Link 8 Port) to solar batteries?

  @Vincent-TP

Hey  Vincent,

I need to operate a switch at the batteries to read the bms and cells. The batteries are homemade and the inverter only tells me total battery voltage. If this is the case do I need both the controller and Omada router?

Hi  @YHWHFOLLOWER

How can you operate the switch at the batteries?

As a client, we can only manage/operate a client by disconnecting its Internet connection and reconnecting on the router/controller.

If that's what you need, you can get a controller and ER605 router.

  @Vincent-TP

Can I use a controller with the Century link router or do I need to get the Omada router and plug it into the Century link?

I was just reading the posts and laughed. I don't need to operate the switch lol. I need to see what's plugged into the switch. (batteries) I should proof read my stuff a little better. I appreciate your replies and time!

Hi  @YHWHFOLLOWER

With an SDN controller and a router ER605, all clients connected to this network to get Internet access will show in the Client list of the controller.

You can have a look at the emulator of the SDN Omada controller:

https://emulator.tp-link.com/emulator-v5.13/index.html#clients

If this can meet your requirement, you can get an SDN controller and ER605. The ER605 can be plugged after the Centrelink router.
