Model: OC200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.32.6 Build 20241101 Rel.41525

Hello

It's been a week since I found all my EAPs (115 and 225) in adoption state.
Obviously the wifi network is not usable.
Tests done:
I restarted the EAP power supply of the POE switch several times: no results
rebooting the controller as above
factory reset of the controller, setting, adoption of the various eaps after that wifi worked for about 1 hour and then again the eaps are in adoption state.

What can I do? it's a holiday home and the wifi is very convenient, thank you

Hi  @Truzzman

What's the firmware version of the EAP units? Are they the latest?

Will all the EAP units stuck in adopting status, or they in an adoption loop, like: adopting>provisioning>connected>heartbeat missed>disconnected?

How can the EAP units recover to normal? Will they get internet automatically? Or require a reboot?

What's the model number of the POE switch you are using? Is it TP-Link?

When did the issue first happen?

  Firmware Version: 1.32.6 Build 20241101 Rel.41525

Last night after several hours the EAPs went from the adoption state to the normal state and the wifi was working correctly.
This morning the eaps returned to the adoption state and not even a reboot of the controller had any effect.

Sounds like things stopped working after a recent controller update?  I checked, and the last firmware for an EAP115v5 was 2021 and designed for a v4 controller.  The management ports have changed on recent controllers and I'm betting your older APs aren't able to deal with that.  Suggest going back to an older controller firmware version to see if that stabilizes things.  If you don't have a backup, you may have to rebuild the older controller from scratch as downgrades are not supported.

Hi  @Truzzman

How about the EAP versions? Like Doug said, controller add some new ports since certain version, you may have a look on the following faq:

Which ports do Omada SDN Controller and Omada Discovery Utility use?
