Declined Feature request: Easy Managed switch should collect client IP and report to the controller

Unfortunatley not all Omada switches report the client IP addresses to the controller (see screenshot). According to TP-Link support, this is correct, as easy manages switches do not report the client IP config to the controller. The request would be that they also report the clients IP config, so anyone can see the client IP address in the controller portal.

We have noticed your feedback over this matter.
The client information to the controller is a set of private protocols and ARP capability, which is not implemented on the ES series at all.
And the ES series does NOT support this protocol nor the ARP table from the hardware level.
If you have similar requirements, and want to specify the client port and other info, consider the L2+ or L3 switches which support ARP table and Omada management.
In the future, per the dev team, if you are using the Omada router, ES series switch, and the connected to ES switch client's DHCP IP is assigned by the Omada router, the client IP will be displayed. Period, end quoting. No additional features. This is the only improvement down the road regarding this.
As for the ES switch, and this specific request is NOT gonna be considered in the future firmware update.
July 8th, 2025, EDIT:
In case you did not know, there is a new upgrade in the router that provides the ability to use ARP Detection. The way mentioned above, to properly list the clients in the Omada environment.
Make sure you upgrade your controller and router firmware to the latest to support this.
It should scan your local devices by ARP, and it is supposed to list all the devices that are connected and using the Omada router as the DHCP server.
Under the interface config for each VLAN interface.
Aug 11th 2025:
Switch dev reply:
ARP Detection has not yet been supported to fully display the client IP from the ES series switch.
ES series is still limited by the reason above.
Will try to see the possibility of making it possible.
Based on a reply from the router team, another feature might help display the IP in the client list and it is scheduled.
As the dev information is restricted to me, I am not able to provide any further insight or information. Regarding the scheduled release time, development progress and other information about the changes and roadmap, please refer to the final release note of the official firmware.

Each Omada carton states: Business solution. And this solution is not even able to show client IP addresses, that are provided by the Omada gateway (DHCP). Sorry, but that is not business. This is a minimum information that should be accessible.

Dear Tp-Link, showing the IP address is a basic functionality. I'm holding off on buying additional switches until you fix this.

I have bought 2 205G's and 1 205GP to expand a network. Since I have bought them and installed them on a network, I have had various failures on the network. For example, I had a SG2008P router loosing network connectivity and keep trying to adopt. I allocated all my switches and AP's static IP's. I was scratching my head with this one until I realised that the 205G and 205GP wasn't allocating IP's to it's ports. I am not sure why this was happening , but when I took them back out of the network, everything settled down again. So for now, I am using an old unmanaged switch to keep the network up.
Very frustrating and I wouldn't have bought if I knew this issue beforehand. @Cepheus0815
