This is not a router issue as explained above. As we comply with the DHCP, there isn't too much we can do. You can contact your ISP regarding this as they have set the renewal for too long and they change the IP before the renewal time is reached, which is not supposed to happen.

 

We have made a beta for him, but based on the reply, he said it did not work.

  @Clive_A I have several 706W in the field. I have one that intermittently loses connection. I'll have to open a ticket later but I don't think this is the same issue.

Intermittent connection that can recover, that's indeed a different issue.

His ER706W is not. It's completely out of the Internet and I gotta manually reconnect the wire to recover the new IP and the reason is renewal time.

Anyone who reads this post and is looking for a solution:

We have some progress on this.

First, we are sure that our router can resend the DHCP request when the modem recovers the Internet. We entered the debug mode and collected the logs regarding this matter.

Second, the main reason we have found is that the Huawei modem used in this case reboots, and it caused the disconnection on the WAN. Eventually, this leads to a problem with the Internet connection.

OP has read the logs on the Huawei modem for the last three months. It seems to be a problem with Huawei, which caused the Internet issue.

The OP is now working with the ISP on the modem.
