Model: ER7206 (TL-ER7206)
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.4.1 Build 20240117 Rel.57421

I setup a succesfull VPN using the Omada built in VPN service. I am just using Preshared key with a username and password, very simple. 2-3 times a week, a users will report and error while connecting to the VPN, both their pc and the logs on the router say that the Username or password is invalid even though there has been no changes. The only way I have found to fix this is to delete the users from the VPN users set them up again.

Radius Is in my future but not currently an option for this site. Can anyone help me figure out how to prevent this?

Thank you for your response, I might have fixed the issues. I over looked a fundamental IT procedures, is it updated. Out of my many controllers, that one was two versions behind for reasons I am not sure. Upon updating, the currently affected users issues resolved itself. I will post again if the issue continues.

Hi @Daniel_Smith

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

So, is this user random? Or is a specific user experiencing this all the time?

That's the key to resolving this matter.

I don't think it is a random user. At least for years of using the L2TP VPN, no single forum report or bug has been recorded.

The problem may not reside on the router side. Would love to hear a comment on this.
