Model: EAP110-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 5.0.7 Build 20230410 Rel. 69645(4555)

Hi,
Recently purchased and installed a EAP110-Outdoor AP, if i set it up via wired connection to extended my network coverage in my garden(either via the App or connect via wifi directly to AP). after following the set up instructions the moment set up is completed (after setting ip login/name/pass of AP) despite being able to see the AP in wireless networks with its given name it will never connect for any device and the entering the IP in a browser does not work it never resolves. i've tried pinging the given IP and it becomes unreachable

i have logged into my router (Virgin Media Hub 3.0) and the APs mac adress never seems to appear when connected via wired, i have manually tried connecting directly to the AP via ethernet & poe on a laptop and still get the same when set up is finished/after, i've have tested the cable that the ap is using directly between router/laptop and have no problem connecting to the internet and tested the cable into my laptop through the poe, and also have no problem.

i have noticed if i set it up in repeater mode and connect to my network via wireless it works without issue in which i can access the admin panel after setup. how can i solve the wired issue as i would very much like it connected via wire and not wireless

Thanks

Hi  @jc93

If unplug the EAP from the POE adapter, and plug it into a PC, will the PC have internet access?

The connection would be:

router ---POE adapter----PC

Please make sure test with the same Ethernet cables.

This is to test if the cables and the POE adapter are working correctly.

Please also factory reset the EAP to default settings and test again.

Also, when the EAP is plugged into a router, it will obtain a new IP address from the router, please try to use the domain name  tplinkeap.net to access its web interface.

@Vincent-TP i tested if a PC connected through cable that EAP uses through POE gets internet and it does as it did prior, i once again did a factory reset, and followed the setup insturctions doing the same thing i've done previously when it didn't work, it now appears to be working via LAN, LAN is listed with "100Mbps - FD" in the Device Information and there is no longer options to scan & connect to networks wirelessly in the admin panel of the AP.
Not sure why this time it has worked.
Thank you for your assistance.

  @jc93

It could be due to an unsuccessful reset earlier, or possibly other unknown reasons. Great to hear that the issue has been resolved!
