Model: Deco S7
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.5.2 Build 20240927 Rel. 68997

I bought a set of three Deco S7 a few weeks ago and about once a week at night the system seems to go down. The lights on the three units go solid red and the wifi goes down. However, I've noticed that the internet from my ISP is still working because I unplugged the main deco and plugged the cable into my computer and it works just fine, but still, when I plug it back into my deco it stays solid red and I get no wifi. I've tried rebooting the units and rebooting the modem as well but it doesn't work. Then randomly after a couple of hours of rebooting and unplugging it suddenly turns white again out of the blue. This is a big issue because my wife works from home and needs a solid internet connection.

I have the scheduled reboot set at 3 am every night to see if that helps but it doesn't seem to matter. I have the cable from my modem plugged directly into the first connection on the primary deco unit and then have a router connected to the second connection.

Hi@SilverFoxx ,

Thank you for contacting our community.

May I know if your network topology diagram is as follows:

ISP modem—main deco )))((( client devices

(Note: — stands for wired connection,)))((( stands for wireless connection )

Please change one satellite deco unit to be the main deco for a comparsion: How to replace the main Deco with another Deco

If the PC still can access network when the network drops. it is recommended that you can do Mac clone for the Deco:How to Configure MAC Clone on Deco

Best Regards~

@Joseph-TP Thanks for getting back to me. My network looks like this:

ISP modem—main deco, then wired from the main deco to a Netgear GS105 switch that gives wired access to my TV, a TP-link powerline, a Shield TV and a PS5. The other devices are connected through wifi.

Hi @SilverFoxx,

Thanks for your reply.

Do Mac clone and change to a different main Deco.
