Issue in IPTV for Orange TV
Issue in IPTV for Orange TV

Hi everybody,
I need some help because I am using automatic firmware upgrade and today I had an update like this :
ER8411 v1.0 | Default |
1.2.3 Build 20241121 |
1.3.1 Build 20250515 Rel.63712 |
Jun 02, 2025 02:04:52 am |
I had no issue with my IPTV before, but until this upgrade my Set-top box doest not want to work anymore.
I checked all my configurations and everything seems to be OK (like it was before upgrade). I can't see a mistake.
I would like to rollback to previous firmware (with Firmware actions in Firmware Overview), but I did not work and give me a "Failed Device list" with my device I want to downgrade.
I checked here : ER8411_V1_1.3.1_Release Note.pdf to verify if my old firmeware is acceptable, and it also seems to be OK.
That's why I ask you for help,
In advance, thanks for your reply,
Regards

Hi @Clive_A,
Thank you very much.
In fact I tried a lot of configuration.
A thing is working for TV but not for all services around. And it is working using Internet instead of IPTV on port selection in IPTV configuration.
I would like to validate that it is due to firmware version but I am not able to rollback.
If you have any ideas,
Thank you very much again,
Regards

Rollback option is in SSH mode. You can try to roll back and verify.

Hi @Clive_A, Sorry for delay in my response. When you said "Rollback option is in SSH mode", do you mean that it is not working from Omada Controller Interface ? Because there is an option available at this time. Also, do you consider that using "Terminal" tab in "Network tools" of the site as a SSH mode ? Or you are really consider SSH mode as connecting to device through SSH only. One question more, I did not know what is rollback command line ? Can you help me please on this ? Thank you very much Regards

1. SSH mode is a generic way to express the CLI mode. Or more accurately, I mean rollback in the CLI mode.
On how to enter the CLI mode, you can look at the Controller User Guide if you are using it in controller mode.
2. Enter the CLI and input en or help.

I have an new issue. When I use "Remote Control Terminal Session", in "Network tools".
I typed "enable", then "roll-back" as explain in thread you link in this post.
After that I typed "Y" one time, and second time, and finally a third time to finally got an error 'System roll back is cancelled.'

Try the CLI from a PC. Never seen this before. If there is an issue, could be the controller side, which prompt is not returned.

You cannot roll back from 'Network tools' > 'Terminal' within the controller. You have to use a program like PuTTY.

Hi @n0sh1t,
Thank you for information.
I tried with ssh, but when I typed "roll-back" and "Y" for confirming roll-back action, I had a strange message that's seems to confirm rollback.
I saw a "Rollback succeed", but really nothing has changed....
I am really in a strange situation, I suppose that it comes from tries that I made to rollback with "Firmware" menu in Omada Controller.
What do you suggest me ?
Thanks a lot for your help,

I don't know what's wrong with your gateway but I just did a roll back like an hour ago because I have some problems reaching my servers via URL on LAN and didn't have any problems with the roll back.
Here's a screenshot of what you are supposed to see once you enter Y then press enter :
Sorry if it's too small but you can zoom in.
After the confirmation of roll back success my gateway reboots and loads with the last firmware that was installed before updating to 1.3.1 (in my case 1.2.3).
Maybe @Clive_A has an idea of what could cause this type of issue..
