Help to configure ethernet for downstream switch
Ok, it seems I am making a hybrid network with some parts being "big end" and some "low end" devices.
I can only work with what I have.
I have the 24 port switch with one (the first) ethernet as the "TRUNK" from the Edgerouter with VLANS.
Now the other 16 port switch is connected to the Edgerouter also.
So from the Edgerouter's point of view:
eth1 - 24 port switch (VLAN)
eth2 - 16 port switch (VLAN)
I'd prefer to have the 16 port switch plugged into an ethernet port of the 24 port switch and not going back to the Edge Router - as is now.
But I don't know how to do this magic on the 24 port switch.
Basic config: (24 port switch)
Eth0 (the first one) is the TRUNK and is the UPLINK.
There are several VLANS (802.1) on the remaining Eth ports.
The idea is I sacrifice one of the remaining 23 and use it to connect to an ethernet port of the 16 port switch.
TL-SG1016DE 3.0
So it would be something like:
Edgerouter --> VLAN --> 24 port switch eth0 ethx --> VLAN --> 16 port switch eth0
I'm not sure "MIRROR" is the right thing and I feel it isn't the way to go.
