I have had issues with my Virgin router from the day I had it and so a friend of mine set up my Archer C6, which has been great for a couple of years, but I only use it for WiFi. Now I am trying to hardwire cat 6 to each room in my house, using a tp link switch in the loft (as I'm sure many people on here will have) I cannot get anything out of my internet switch. All plugs are made off correctly, as I have a tester to check for shorts/wrong colours etc. I've since put devices next to my Archer and tried a hard wired connection and there seems to be nothing transmitting, in any port! I have a Hivevheating hub that has been plugged in from the start and that seems to be the only thing I can use with a Ethernet cable... please help

If you are experiencing issues with the Ethernet connection on your TP-Link router while the wireless connection is working fine, follow the troubleshooting suggestions below:
1. Check Ethernet Lights
    1) Verify if the Ethernet light on the router is lit up. If not, it indicates a potential problem with the Ethernet cable, LAN port on the router, or the Ethernet port on your wired client device.
    2) Try using a different Ethernet cable, switch to another LAN port on the router, and test with a different wired client device.
    3) For routers with a single indicator/LED, check if the device itself has detected the Ethernet connection.
2. Reboot Devices: Reboot both your wired client device and the router. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
3. Test with Another Device: Connect another device to the router using the same Ethernet cable and port. If the Internet works on the other device, the issue lies with the initial device. Contact the technical support of that device for assistance.
4. Check IP Configuration: Ensure that the wired client device is set to obtain an IP address automatically.
    1) For Windows: Go to the Network Connection Details page and verify that "DHCP enabled" is set to "Yes."
    2) For Mac: Navigate to Network > Advanced and confirm that "Configure IPv4" is set to "Using DHCP."

Hi, you are not alone when it comes to the virgin router, 

 

I helped my friend move away from his virgin router and passed him on a pair of c6 routers that he uses in AP mode along with his ax55(main)

 

Does none of your extensions from your switch work or does no extensions work from your other c6  ports onwards?  

 

If its from the switch onwards have you tried using different ports on the C6 on seperate devices like a laptop just to confirm its not a switch issue or its a c6 issue. 

 

You could try powering down both the c6 and switch for about 5 mins as either could be throwing a tantrum 

 

To save time helping other users maybe answering your question what switch have you used as it sounds strange that your only able to use the 1 device/1port (hive heating) but nothing else will work.
