I have been monitoring traffic using the Insights -> QoS Data.  The up and down arrow represent data going... well here is the part that got me confused; outbound (up arrow) and inbound (down arrow) right?

in my mind, the up arrow is outbound from the gateway to Internet/Cloud and vis versa right?  Even in the Settings -> Gateway QoS.  The inbound arrow is blue, and outbound is cyan.  Which matches the arrow's color in QoS Data.  The only difference is that the QoS data has a circle around the arrow............ does that automatically make it "opposite"? frown

However, during my testing when moving large data into the internet/cloud (outbound from LAN->WAN), it's always the down arrow that is getting the big Kbps read out.  Is it supposed to indicate as such?

Hi  @mbze430

Thanks for the reply.

It's normal to see the down arrow data increase when a remote client initiates a stream, as the primary data flow direction is download. If the stream playback is smooth without buffering, there's generally no cause for concern.

Hi  @mbze430

Thanks for posting here. We had a test and everything works as expected.

To understand the situation, please give us more details of your test, for example, what device you were using, how did it connect to the network, what kind of service you were using? What exactly you were doing? etc.

Not sure how much more "detail" you want.. but here are some pictures

First screen shot, Gateway QoS to move all egress/outbound traffic that matches Plex (src: IP:port w/ DSCP marked AF43):

Here is a screen shot before activating the stream.

As you can see there are no traffic in the Gateway Class 2 Queue.

When a remote client starts a stream, notice how the "down" arrow is peaking and not the up arrow.  did you guys accidentally switched it?  because to ME, down arrow = ingress/inbound from the router's point of view. (up arrow = egress/outbound, down arrow = ingress/inbound)

You are saying outbound traffic LAN -> WAN is consider 'download' traffic.

If you read my last reply I said the client is on WAN not from LAN.

So you have to explain to me why it sees it as download (inbound/ingress), the point of view is from where to consider it as download?
