ER7412-M2 v1.2 Update when ?
Hello. Is there a planned update for the ER7412-M2 v1.2 router, and if so, when? Other routers have already been equipped with features like SD-WAN, but this router still doesn't have it.

@djwujek SD-WAN is configured at Global level and in theory supported by current version of Controller 5.15.24.21
https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/4551/
I am not sure if Gateways need updates to support SD-WAN, the Controller might handle building SD-WAN from existing gateway functions?
The information below is for Australia and I checked it on the TP-Link Australia website Support Download section. @GRL told me some of these products have actually had 2025 firmware updates on the US & EU websites, that should be able to be installed in Australia. Though nothing for the ER7412-M2.
-----------------------------------
But now you mention it, it seems like Omada gateway really don't get updates hardly at all in the last year! 😭
- ER8411 --> no firmware update for 1.5 years (2023-12-27) --> had regular updates in 2022-2023, then stopped
- ER7412-M2 --> no firmware update for 10 months (2024-12-08) --> has one had one firmware update _ever_ since launch in ~2024-10-04
- ER7406 --> no firmware update ever (but only released 2025-07-02)
- ER7206 --> no firmware update for more that 1 year (2024-03-24) --> had regular updates in 2020-2024, then stopped
- ER707-M2 --> no firmware update for almost 1 year (2024-11-04) --> had regular updates in 2020-2023, then stopped
- ER605 --> no firmware update for more than 1 year (2024-05-22) --> had regular updates in 2022-2024, then stopped
- TL-R605 --> no firmware update for more than 1.5 years (2023-12-01) --> had regular updates in 2022-2023, then stopped
It seems like about a year ago, gateway firmware support practically stopped. The ONLY firmware update in all of 2025 is for the just launched ER7406. Yet is earlier years (2022-2024) there were firmware updates 2-3 times per year for each product. I'm kind of shocked by these findings, because there is little chance the software components in these routers haven't had bug or security fixes occur in the last year, yet no firmware updates?
@djwujek it is funny, you are about ER7412-M2 but it is almost the most recently updated gateway product! 😅

TP-Link is trying to push everyone to buy new products instead of updating current devices.
If you take look to ER605v2, the forum is plenty of users talking about bugs/poor performance with firmware 2.3.0 (April 2025), after 5 months.. still waiting for a "solution".
Once firmware 2.3 is installed you can not roll back in easy way, it must be done via hard reset + tftpd server....
TP-Link is centered in Cloud Services... take a look to new Festa devices

Thanks for the comments. My take might be a little hasty, as it appear there have been newer firmware for many of these products, but they have not been updated in the TP-Link Australia website Support Downloads area. However nothing for the ER7412-M2 v1.2.
Between Omada, Omada Pro, and Festa, there are so many variations that I can see they might be spreading their support too thin! However I think Festa range looks more like a home user range, leveraging the cloud controller and easy app approach. So I hope Omada (Pro) will continue to be supported for business and "pro-sumer" users.

These have all been superceded by the official realeases on the support site or through controller firmware update - they dont post official releases on the forum any more

@GRL: "All of these are on the EN / US support sites, so not sure where you are getting your information from"
I got that info from the Australia website Support section Downloads. I found no 2025 updates for any of there products in Australia. Perhaps other countries have better support? Hopefully those versions you mention will come to Australia soon!

I did find these old pre-releases listed in the forum, so I have hope that maybe Australia will get these firmware updates one day!

Firmware for gateways are NOT region specific, you can use any of them on any gateway anywhere in the world. If TP-Link australie havent updated their website, send them an email. However, you can and should update to the ones on the US / EN site.
Cloud and Hardware controller will also push any updated stable version as well.

Maybe I'm wrong, but...
No firmware for our friend @whereisaaron in USA site indeed.
We'll have to send a mail to USA....
