Model: Archer AX55
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.4.1

I have enabled the ftp server on one of my AX55 access points and this works pretty smooth for external clients when combined with a SAT rule in my firewall.

However I would like to request that you could enable some sort of ftp ban rule in order to prevent outsiders from trying to brute force their way into the AX55 ftp server.

If you look at FreeNAS/XigmaNAS variants you can setup up such a ban rule, that if triggered by too many false login attempts, blocks the related source IP for an hour or so before re-allowing the connection.

FTP is nice and easy, but it is not the most secure way of sharing files, but it is really convenient and just by plugging in f.i. a 512GB Ultra Fit USB stick into the AX55 you end up getting a nice and cheap server to share files with your friends with-out increasing your electric bill. However I would like ONLY to share files with my friends and not get hammered by various hackers that see any public ftp server as a target.

So please try to think about a customized ftp/smb login banning rule in the next firmware release for the AX55.

Best regards
