Oc200 died, oc220 setup without every device reset ! Possible?

Model: OC200
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

I am a novice in networking but successfully set up the Omada network for home with Er605 and Ss2210 switch, controlled by OC200.  Worked perfectly but then controller died and is completely offline. Purchased OC220 but the devices recognized in 220 status say "managed by others" and are not able to adopt.  Is there a way to adopt them without resetting and keeping all configuration as is for Oc220?
additionally how do I get a backup now and use that to restore settings after resetting the devices

would this work?

much obliged

Hi @SalSid, what you need is a backup from the dead controller and it doesn't sound like you have one.  I'm not aware of a way to recover settings from the individual devices so you'll need to reconfigure everything.  On the new controller be sure to go to Global View: Settings->Maintenance and make a backup; even better to use the Backup Schedule.  The Restore options are also on the Maintenance page.

Top tip - buy one of those nano-sized USB flash drives and put it in the USB slot on the controller, set up the scheduled backup every day at like 6am.  The nano ones barely stick out of the slot so no accidental breaking the port or losing the drive if it gets knocked.

You can read the drive on a PC and extract the backup files if needed, and the controller can restore from them directly if you need.
