HI, i am testing the Omada controller because my plan to setup it for 700 user.
I want to prevent wireless users from sharing Wi-Fi via the mobile hotspot. So i enabled Prohibit Wi-Fi Sharing setting. but when i test it i can still use the mobile hotspot.
i have Omada_Controller_v6.0.0.25_Windows.
and as AP i am using EAP225 (Firmware Version 5.2.3 Build 20250709 Rel. 67584). (Power through POE).
POE switch is other brand.
Can you please Guide me. So i can complete my testing and go to the live envirement ASAP.

Hi @B-A-C
What's the firmware version of the EAP? Is it this version?

It supports wifi prohibiting sharing. If not, please update it and see if the same situation.

I am using the latest version of the firmware.

i also checked and noticed that the wifi sharing through mobile hotspot is working 50 percent and 50 percent not. Means i notice that whatsapp not working facebook new videos are coming and even feeds in the form of pictures are coming. but videos and reels are only run for 9 seconds after that video or reel will not work.
but youtube sometimes works sometimes not working at all. if it's working then all the videos and shorts are working fully. and if not working then suddenly all videos and shorts are not working.
one thing more on the wifi status is showing no internet access. but still the internet works as i explained to you above.

Hi @B-A-C
Is this issue present on all clients? Some devices will automatically switch to mobile data to obtain a network when they detect that WiFi is not working.
I suggest you check if this is the case. You can turn off mobile data on your phone during the next test.
If the problem persists, I recommend you to record a screen capture of the process and send the information of the affected clients to support to get more efficient assistance.

Hi @B-A-C
That's not a problem.
Only the first email has this restriction. You should be able to attach a video in your subsequent replies. Alternatively, you can compress it before sending.

Please rest assured, if this feature indeed does not work as expected, we will identify the cause and resolve it as soon as possible.
