Model: OC200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.37.11 Build 20251201 Rel.43290

Hello,

I would like to replace my OC200 v1 controller with an new OC220.
Can I transfer ALL settings and configurations to the OC220 via migration?
Or are there things that are not transferred during migration?

When I access the migration in OC200, are there points Site-Migration and Controller Migration?

Do I need to execute both, or is Controller Migration sufficient?

I read that migration is only possible if both controllers have identical firmware.
That will be difficult with two different controllers.
My OC200 has the firmware 1.37.11 Build 20251201 Rel.43290

I just ordered the OC220 and don't yet know which version or firmware version it will have.

The latest firmware for the OC220 is available on the TP-Link website is V1_1.2.11 Build 20251128.

Will a migration work then?
Thanks :)

backup the OC200, turn it off and connect to the OC220, run restore to the new controller.

  @lukass2000 that should not be an issue as long as the major and minor version number of the software are the same. Yes, a firmware is device specific but in this case it is about the version of the controller software that is running in the device (currently controller version 6.0.x).

When the new controller is delivered, connect it to your network and connect it to your Omada account.

Next step is to make sure that both the OC200 and new OC220 are updated with the latest stable release. They should both be running version 6.0 of the controller.

Once that is done, follow the instructions here (section "II. Controller Migration") to migrate the entire controller.

I recently performed a migration from OC200 to the SDN version without any issues.

  @MR.S

Okay, thanks :)

But are all the settings transferred as well?

I used the controller on a PC two years ago and then transferred it to the OC200.
At that time, all the controller settings were restored.
However, I had to adjust the settings on all the access points and the SG3428 Switch manually.
That wasn't so funny.
I actually thought that an SDN was supposed to take over exactly that part.

@Theedoek
Thanks, I'll try the migration then.

Greetings :)

all settings should come over, it's actually a very simple process, I use backup and restore. have never had any problems with it. the only thing you have to watch out for is the versions, it's best if both controllers have the same omada version.
