Got the AX23  router 6 months ago, and  2 mesh extenders (RE 215). worked really well for first 4 months or so, then started to constantly drop internet connection.  No speed or coverage issues. Small house and we can get our advertised speed (150 mbs) when its working. 

 

Internet signal is fine, if we plug the modem straight into a pc or the google streamer with wired connection no issues. Full speed, no interruption. Modem always shows full connection.

 

We have 3 LAN devices from the router normally and 6 wifi devices.  Often some devices will lose internet but not all. Wifi vs wired doesnt seem to matter. 

 

Did a factory restore of router a month ago, but within a week or so went back to dropping internet. Powering down / rebooting router fixes for a while (anywhere from 5 minutes to 24 hours) 

 

Firmware was updated to latest version yesterday but that has made it worse if anything. 

 

When  acting up the router is not discoverable in the Tether App / local login. The Tether app will show a generic "TP LINK ROUTER" or no router at all - it will just show the two extenders.  

 

Not a techie and at my wits end with constantly rebooting the router.

Have you changed any settings recently? May I know the LED status of the Archer AX23? Is the network still running even though the Tether App failed to find the router?

 

Please install the latest version of the App.

Please try a different phone to log in to the Tether App and check whether you can find the AX23.

For comparison, please check the router's status on the Web interface. Does it display the router normally?

Hi thanks for your response.

 

The Tether App has been working better in the last week, it is the most recent version.

When we lose internet connection ( nearly every day still)  it now is reachable and the router status is that there is no internet connection. 

 

The connectivity issue persists. I followed the guide you linked - replaced the ethernet cable from the modem to router.

I have changed the DNS setting to "use this DNS"  ... I did not know what DNS to pick, so I used the one that router was currently using. Is there something better to use?

 

We have started keeping a list of when we've had the connection drop and had to restart the router. When this happens USUALLY the orange light for internet connectivity is on. Sometimes not.  In logging the times, we are going about 24 hours and then losing connectivity around 9 or 10 pm. Everynight but two the past week we lost connection at that time and had to unplug the router and restart. I feel this is less frequent and more predictable than before the DNS change, but its still far too often for the network to drop.
