Release Notes

 

New Features:

 

1.Added support for HTTPS in standalone mode.
2.Added port name configuration in standalone mode.
3.Added support for EEE in controller mode.
4.Added support for clustering in controller mode.
5.Added support for LLDP global switch in both standalone mode and controller mode.
6.Added support for QoS rules in controller mode.
7.Added support for retaining partial standalone configurations such as IP and management Vlan when adopted by the controller.
8.Added support for device health in controller mode.
9.Added support for reporting port TX and RX rates in controller mode.

 

Enhancement:

 

1.Optimized VLAN configuration and port isolation in standalone mode.
2.Optimized basic QoS in standalone mode.
3.Added port-based loop detection switch in standalone mode.
4.Added Option 12 and Option 60 fields for DHCP.
5.Added Option 43 and DNS adoption to adopted method.
6.Enhance security.
7.Disabled IGMP snooping by default.
8.Added port-based fast leave for IGMP snooping  in standalone mode and controller mode.
9.Added report suppression for IGMP snooping in controller mode.
10.Added port-based locate in controller mode.
11.Added encryption for configuration files in standalone mode.
12.Added login attempt limits  in standalone mode.

Before the Upgrade

(1) Please be sure you have read the Pre-release Firmware Agreement before upgrading the Beta firmware!

(2) You may follow the following guide to upgrade your Omada devices. How to Upgrade/Downgrade Omada Switches

(1) The above firmware is applied to matching hardware.

(2) Your device’s configuration won’t be lost after upgrading.

 

Additional Information

 

All feedback is welcome, including letting us know about successful device upgrades.

If somehow you encounter an issue during or after the upgrade, it's suggested to contact us with the following info:

  • Omada Controller version if you have any.
  • Device Firmware version with Build number (previous and current)

 

If your model gets bricked during the firmware upgrade, you may follow the guide below to recover the firmware.

Will there also be a firmware for ES205G and ES205GP soon to test?

This was promised to us a while ago so we can see the health and IP's.

My Setup:ER707-M2 V1.20, OC200 (Removed!!!!), 6x EAP245 V3.0, 1x EAP225 V3.0, 1x EAP225-Outdoor V3.0, 2x TL-SG2218 V1.20,3x ES205G V1.0 and 2x ES205GP. We should get discount for trade in OC200!!

Sorry that we don't get advanced notice of whether there will be new updates being released or when a feature update will be available for ES205G and ES205GP. We recommend keeping an eye on our official website for any new firmware updates, if there are any.

  @Hank21 I understand you do not know everything. :)

As the ES205G and ES205GP are like the ES210GP so called "Easy Managed" switches I expect the features they now just added to ES210GP will also be there for the ES205 series as they are "almost" the same.

 

I use the Multigast IGMP and Fast Leave options also as I have IPTV over a seperated VLAN with a lot of special options.... This are the last updates we need.

 

Can you just please ask internally? If these features are added and "later" the IP address is visible for a lot of people the Omada SDN Experience will be just perfect.!!
