Model: TL-SG2428P
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 5.30.13
Hello community,
I am experiencing a persistent connectivity issue with RustDesk since updating my SG2428P switch on Jan 24th, 2026 (version 5.30.13).
My Setup:
  • Gateway: ER605
  • Switch: SG2428P (Updated to latest firmware on Jan 24th)
  • ISP: Connection with CGNAT (WAN IP in the 100.74.x.x range).
  • Server: Using public RustDesk network (no self-hosted server).
  • VLANs: Multiple VLANs (10, 20, 30, 40, 100, 200).
The Problem:
Since the update, all devices within the Omada network show the status "Connecting to the RustDesk network" and cannot establish a connection.
  • Comparison with other tools: Interestingly, TeamViewer and AnyDesk are working perfectly without any issues. Only RustDesk is unable to connect.
  • Hotspot Test: If I take my MacBook out of the Omada network and connect it to a mobile phone hotspot, RustDesk works instantly. For example, I can then immediately access my mother's PC (which is located at a different house/network).
  • The Issue: As soon as I reconnect to the Omada LAN/WLAN, RustDesk fails again. It seems the Omada stack is specifically interfering with RustDesk's handshake or its rendezvous/relay server communication since the update.
What I have tried so far:
  1. Verified VLAN Isolation is OFF.
  2. Enabled UPnP for all VLANs.
  3. Disabled Flood Defense (no change).
  4. Checked for Gateway ACLs (none exist).
  5. Toggled ARP-to-Unicast and ARP Detection (currently OFF).
Technical Observations (from ifconfig):
The internal interface eth0 shows a high number of dropped packets since the update:
  • eth0: Over 10,000 dropped packets and 214 RX errors.
  • Given that TeamViewer works, it seems the new firmware might have an issue with specific UDP-based NAT traversal (STUN) that RustDesk relies on.
Log Snippet (Jan 26, 2026):

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 92:13:3C:65:0D:2E
          RX packets:15342873 errors:214 dropped:10902 overruns:0 frame:0
Has anyone else seen specific blocking of RustDesk while other remote tools continue to work after the latest SG2428P firmware update?
Thank you!

Hi  @LPG-Hof

Thanks for posting here.

How did you test the RustDesk service? Please tell us the network topology, the device you used to test, and which device it connected to the network.

Where is the RustDesk device/server located? Is it on a remote site?

To confirm whether the switch's new firmware is solely causing the issue, would you please bypass the switch, plug a PC directly into the ER605, and see if the problem persists?

For better understanding, please also let us know the model number of the access points you are using.
