@Vincent-TP Nope, I can not see any AirPlay device over mDNS in a different VLAN, I tried restarting the Gateway a few times.

Hi  @Spanky66

Thanks for your feedback. From the screenshot, the SG3210X-M2 is V1.0; you should download 1.0.25 to upgrade, not the V1.20 version.

Please download the following version and try again.

SG3210X-M2 v1_1.0.25

@Vincent-TP Tried the update again today - it took way longer than normal, but after reboot still stays the same ?!? No errors found. Using file:  SG3210X-M2v1_en_1.20.2_[20260313-rel5962]_up.bin

@Vincent-TP My bad!! frown Honest mistake - especially when the filename doesn't reflect the v1.20 properly (SG3210X-M2v1_en_1.20.2_[20260313-rel5962]_up.bin) - with so many versions of HW and FW combinations - even seasoned professionals can make this mistake!!

BTW - I have a SX3206HPP v1.20 - but the only file to download says:  SX3206HPP v1_1.20.22

and the filename is:  SX3206HPPv1_en_1.20.22_[20260423-rel31298]_up.bin

The name reflects v1 ?

The real question is with error handling during an upgrade - Why did the upgrade seem to work (with successful message) - even though it was the wrong HW version FW ??

That shouldn't happen . . . Why aren't there basic checks before hitting apply with warnings that the FW is not the right one?  Why did mine say "successful" when it wasn't - and why aren't there any error messages in the logs ?? frown  Room for improvement ??

Thx-

Hi  @Spanky66

Yes, that's the version for SX3206HPP v1.20.

Our switches come in many models, and to facilitate maintenance, some models and hardware products support cross-upgrades to compatible firmware versions. Your case is exactly this situation.

Upgrading firmware in this way will not have any negative impact on the switch, so you don't need to worry

For product models that cannot be cross-upgraded, we have implemented verification mechanisms—for example, if you attempt to upgrade the SG2008P with SG3428X's firmware, an error will be reported, and the upgrade will be blocked.

Thanks for that - explains a bunch -but why did the SG3210X-M2 say successful when it was not?

>>>Currently, controller won't detect the differences between these firmware versions. I have already submitted suggestions for improvement, and the relevant team will consider how to optimize the display. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

@Vincent-TP Oddly enough, in the device overview, it shows model and HW model with FW version - so I guess the SDN can see the HW version somehow 🤔

For SX3206HPP going from .19 to .22 has subjectively increased fan noise.

Hi  @Acorny

Thanks for the feedback. For better understanding, please give us the following info:

1. How many clients are plugged into the switch?

2. What's the POE usage of the switch?

3. How loud was the noise previously? How about after the upgrade? You can download a noise measurement app to measure it.

4. Is there any newly added client after this update?

5. Do you change any settings after this update?

  @Vincent-TP

Is there going to be a update for TL-SG3210XHP-M2 v2.0? I just received this earlier this year as a replacement and was hoping it would continue to get updates. Will v3 model be cross updatable?
