When you enable IPS, you also turn on IDS.
You must be able to detect to protect.
If you only have IDS on, you detect without protecting.

Thank you for your observation and suggestion. You are correct in your understanding.

We understand your point that the current wording may not be immediately intuitive, especially for users expecting to see both “IDS” and “IPS” explicitly reflected in the option name.
