Unable to adopt a new ER707-M2
Omada configuration.
Controller is local OC220 (IP address 172.16.0.10/19).
Want to replace a "old" ER7206 with a "new" ER707-M2.
Network is 172.16.0.0/19, router should have 172.16.0.1 as its own IP address.
Removed ER7206.
Changed the configuration on the controller to reflect the new router type and connections.
ER707-M2 factory default.
Connected only one ethernet WAN to port 1 and one ethernet LAN on port 6.
Controller start adopting.
The adption failed but if I connect to the router, router web gui report that "This gatway has been managed by a Controller before. You can reset your device to manage it as a standalone Gateway"...
Thanks for your attention.

Hi @aldodemi
Thanks for posting here.
According to the error message, you need to perform a factory reset on the ER707-M2.
You may use a pin or pen to press and hold the reset hole for around 8-10 seconds.
After that, you can refer to the following guide to replace the ER7206 to the ER707-M2:
How to add/change an Omada Gateway to an existing Omada network?

@Vincent-TP I started the setup after factory resetting the router and followed exactly everything in the document you provided. I've tried it several times, but the result has always been the same. I always have the latest versions of both the router's firmware and the controller software installed.

Hi @aldodemi
Did you see the SYS light flashing when you performed the reset? This indicates that the reset was successful.
Typically, you need to hold down the reset button for about 8 seconds.
Is this time the same error message as before "The router is managed by others"?

@Vincent-TP I can confirm that every time I tried the router was succefuly resetted and I tried almost 10 time...
And every time the result is always the same, on the controller side "Adopted failed" and on the router side "The router is managed by others".
Please note that in order to proceed, I must reset the router each time I start, which I then connect to, as written in the document you indicated, in order to complete the initial configuration steps of the router itself. I can assure you that the router is perfectly initialized from the factory...
It is only at the end of the failed adoption procedure that the router displays the message "The router is managed by others"..

Did you buy the router new or is it one you bought used? If it is used it may be tied to a controller and auto adopt when you turn it on.

ok, that sounds strange, I have two such routers and have never experienced the problem you have.
I wonder if the Omada team needs to take a closer look at your problem.

Hi @aldodemi
Please test the following and let us know the result:
1. Attempt to adopt in an environment without external network access:
Connected only one ethernet WAN to port 1 and one ethernet LAN on port 6.
That is, only connect the LAN port, not plug the WAN port temporarily.
2. Try to adopt it on a different network.
You can download the Omada software controller, plug the controller PC into the router's LAN port, leave nothing else connected to the router, and try to adopt it using factory settings.
