Hi,

i want to configure 2 CPE510, one as a access point and the other one as a client to connect 2 buildings. I used the quick setup as described in the manual but every time i finish the wizard there is the error: "Failed to configure WLAN"

I patched both CPE510 with the current firmware TP_PharOS_2.1.0_170609 but it didn't change anything. The Error occurs on both CPE510.
Is somebody here with an advice for me?

Kind regards,

Tim

Hi Tim,

When you configure your CPE510, please use an Ethernet cable to connect your PC and the LAN port of each CPE510.
Now reset them and do it again. Here are the detailed guides:
Configure AP mode: http://www.tp-link.com/en/faq-730.html
Configure Client mode: http://www.tp-link.com/en/faq-727.html

Tim, I was having the same issue on both of my CPE210 devices. After hours of trying everything I gave in and spent some time with support on the phone. Looks like it is a problem caused by the Firmware update. We downloaded the latest version of the V1 firmware and updated it to both devices. After that I was able to setup the AP and Client without issue and internet is running again without a hitch!

Thanks DJC, updating firmware sometimes fix unknown problems.
You can try this and update the firmware to TP_Pharos_V2.1.6_170908 http://www.tp-link.com/en/download/CPE510_V2.html#Firmware
C
PE and WBS products (except for CPE210 V2.0) share the same firmware, so you don't need to worry about the different hardware version.
