TL-ER6120 V1 Problem, it freezes... Someone with the same problem?
I have a TL-ER6120 V1 with 1.0.7 Build 20140113 Rel.63736 Firmware, this week begings to get "freezed" so often, two or three times per day. I have to unplug the AC cable from the unit and plug it again after a few minutes to get it functional.
When it goes freezed, internet stops, and I can´t acces to the router administration panel.
I´ll apreciate any help.

All,
Thanks for the update. My question is that will this Firmware(which is on the link provided https://static.tp-link.com/2018/201803/20180330/TL-ER6120(UN)_v1_20180326_Beta.zip) be applicable for all regions. I am based in India.
Also the TP Link Support site still shows the old firmware as the latest TL-ER6120_V1_140113. I checked that for the US Support site and the India site too.
Secondly please also let me know how long has the router been stable after you put in this new firmware. Reason i ask is my issue used to come after 24hr to 36hrs. Hence wanted to know if this firmware has been stable beyond these times.
Any update the TP Link Support gave on why the issue is occuring and what they have fixed in the release. It would be important to know. I had also opened a case on Support here but that did not give me any good response and asked me to carry the router to a service centre.
Thanks again for your responses.

In continuation to my message above I also wanted to mention that i tried to isolate the issue on my own and here are my findings:
1. In my setup I use 2 ISP, ISP1 on WAN1 and ISP2 on WAN2 as FTTH links. WAN1 is primary and WAN2 is standby.
2. These are configured in Load Balancing as Link Backup
3. Post all my findings i was able to see that if I disconnected the WAN1 from ISP1 link physically and kept it out. The WAN2 with ISP2 backup would work just fine and give me no issues. I tried upto 5 days and saw no issues. Earlier i was able to see the issue every 24hrs to 36hrs.
4. Then i plugged in my WAN1 ISP1 again and within 36hrs the issue recreated.
5. That could either mean an issue with the WAN1 port or the ISP Link connected to WAN1.
6. Today I have connected my ISP2 to WAN1 as ISP2 was working ok on WAN2 as mentioned above. It has been around 2hrs as i write.
Did anyone also try to recreate the issue and found something similar/different. Please update.
Will keep you all updated on my progress.
Currently i shall wait for 36hrs to do the Firmware Upgrade (or if the issue occurs earlier shall do it)
Thanks

I also recieved the beta firmware directly form TP Link tech support (same file referenced previously build 20180326). I did not install the 1st firmware given in this thread as the origin was unknown. I don't know what regions the beta firmware is good for. I am in North America.
My router has been up for 5 days now.
I have my primary (and only) ISP connected to WAN1.
LAN1 & LAN2 are part of the same virtual network. LAN3 is a separate virtual network.
When the router froze previously, with no ability to access the web admin page, I could still ping between static ip machines across the LAN1 and LAN2 ports. The DHCP server did not work however, and dynamic IP machines could not pick up adresses to performa ping test.
The front panel sys light also stayed dark when frozen.
As stated, so far (5 days) with the beta firmware my router appears stabile.

Hello everyone!
I have not updated the firmware yet, but I have a temporary way to avoid the problem with the router.
I just changed the date of the router for the year 2014, and I've been almost two weeks now with no problem.
I will update the firmware, and this is a temporary solution for now.
Version: 1.0.7 Build 20140113 Rel.63736
I hope it helps someone.

All,
Just an update from my side today October 5th, 2018 1930Hrs IST. I updated the Firmware as per the file sent by TP Link Support. In fact i had opened another message on the same forum for L2TP VPN not connecting from iOS machines and i was given the same firmware by TP Link Support to update to fix that issue too.
I performed the update on the firmware via the interface in the Maintenance and Management Section(did not reset and update) and the current version shows this (which is a little confusing as the Version shows 0.0.0 not sure why?) Post Firmware Update my config was retained and i did not have to reload it.
Firmware Version: | 0.0.0 Build 20180326 Rel.49741 |
Hardware Version: | TL-ER6120 v1.0 |
The other things i observed in the updated firmware, which i would request others to also reconfirm:
1. The whole interface has a watermark reading "Confidential Only for Test" reading on all pages, which is really not what we Customers should get.
2. The status page shows WAN3 and WAN4 status too (not sure if we can not configure additional WAN ports from LAN ports)
3. There is also an option of IPTV in Network which was not there earlier.
2. In the Router Maintenance Tab there is a new section called NAT Table (shows all traffic data). This is a great addition.
3. In the Maintenance Tab there is a new section called SNMP. While i have not setup the same but appears to be an interface for SNMP setup.
I need to now observe the Router for 24hrs to 36hrs to see if my issue of freezing has been resolved.
Will keep you all updated.
