Could anyone help?

Can anyone help me with FTP through a TP-Link TL-SG3424P? Thanks!

The Windows 10 FTP server part I've done and I've done the router end also... but I cannot connect.

I've got TP-Link TL-SG3424P switch sitting the middle and I can't find out how to open port 21 and point it at the servers IP for passthrough from the internet router to the FTP server.

Or maybe I just need to route the FTP call from the router to the server but thats being blocked by the switch?

Inside the TP Switch control interface is a scary place that I basically want to stay away from.

Router is 192.168.0.100

Ethernet to:

TP link switch 192.168.0.1

Ethernet to:

Server 192.168.0.123

Happy to pay someone to assist me. I'm pretty good at this stuff, but not a tech expert, I'm a TV Producer!

Thanks,

Nik

Hi Nik

I guess you need to access your FTP server remotely.

Generally the switch will not block the data if you do not set up anything. I think you can use your Windows 10 with FTP server to ping your router, check if the connection is normal. ("ping" is command which can be used on PC)

And you can connect the FTP server to your router directly for checking if the issue is related to your router.

I guess you want to access FTP Server (inside your network) from the outside? In other words if I need to access your FTP Server right now, and you give me the server IP/domain, user and pass its filtered so it couldn't be possible?

If this is your problem, you need to open a redirection of port 21 at your INTERNET MODEM/ROUTER, so when a port 21 opening arrives it could redirect to 192.168.0.123 where you have the FTP Server running. Look at FORWARDING for this configuration: when arrives petition to TCP PORT 21 on WAN --- send to----> PORT 21 at 192.168.0.123

Good luck!!
