Model: EAP225
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

Has anyone installed the EAP225 on an existing 2 or 3 gang electrical box?

My previous WAPs were installed on a 3 gang box, and I would really prefer not making any additional holes in the ceiling.

Any guidance or suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks.

@MauroCampos

3 holes are enough to install the EAP225. We have an installation guide about how to install the EAP devices, please refer to the following website:

@forrest

Thank you I am aware, and have that guide.

However,  that doesnt answer my question.  Other manufacturers have other/additional mounting plates types for the use of electrical boxes. I have not seen anything on the TP-link site.

Do you mean that you want to install the EAP on a electrical box and other manufacturers have such ugide? Can you tell us some details about the guide of other manufacturers? After we have a better understanding of your question, we will check if we have more information to provide with you.

So for anyone who encounters this.

I used the blank wall plate as a stencil to mark holes on the EAP mounting bracket.

Drilled the holes out with a multipurpose bit at a slow speed.

I then used the mounting bracket as a location stencil for the blank plate.

All in all not perfect but pretty functional.
