Model: OC200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 Build 20190823 Rel.42002

Hi everyone!

My problem is easy: really often the controller goes offline and then comes back online, all in a few seconds. I don't think the guests are affected but it seems annoying. The logs say nothing .. would anyone know how to help me?

Thank you

Andrea Pellegrin

it could be a cable problem or port problem (where your OC200 is connected to). i've experience this before and it was a port problem. my modem/router's port is intermittently disconnecting. i just transfer it to another port and fixed the intermittent disconnection with my OC200.

What do you mean with »controller goes offline«? Does it disconnect from the cloud? Does it disconnect from your network? Or does it disconnect from the switch? The description is a bit to vague to locate the cause for possible disruptions. Please narrow down the problem, run a ping to see where exactly you loose connection to the OC, check LED status, check cables between OC and the switch, check Internet connectivity of OC200 etc.

@AndreaPellegrin

I have this exact problem too. I can go days without a controller disconnect / reconnect notification in the omado app, then I get 15 notifications in the space of an hour.

Oc200 running firmware v3.2.12, controlling 3 EAP225 + 1 EAP110 outdoor. Access points all powered by POE.

I've tried OC200 powered from (and connected to LAN) via POE switch. I've also tried plugging it directly into one of the router's Ethernet port and powering the controller with micro USB power. I've also changed the Ethernet cable.

I've reset the router (TP Link Archer MR600) and checked it's logs to make sure it's not the 4G internet connection dropping.

I've hard reset the controller and all the access points, before readopting them, still get the constant controller disconnects.

At a loss, can any one recommend anything else?  Thanks

@Al_green

It has nothing to do with your hardware so if TP-Link says that it is they are wrong. The problem is not your OC200. Look in the log and you will not find any connection-loss.

It is the cloud software witch is crappy. TP-Link confirmed that to me. When you look in the app you will see that only the Cloud Controller is offline for a few seconds and not your local OC200.

In the Netherlands al lot of customers will switch to the competition (like Ubiquiti) due to this problem. @TP-Link does not give a single .... about there customers.

And this they call a Business Solution????

@SledgehammerNL

i think your diagnosis is the right one (There is no user dependent solution) from time to time (days, sometimes weeks intermittently there is a oc200 offline message, followed by a controller online message, to the Omada app. At least to users here in The Netherlands...

Maybe a fast restart of one of the content-controlled

Chinese main routers to Chinese cloud servers ? Maybe a joke, maybe reality...

Anyway I can confirm that other information in this tread, that changing to another local router Ethernet port is NOT the solution for this problem. It is a cloud connection related problem, where TP-Link should look in to. Or maybe should delay sending this message, to a REAL controller offline situation..

Dear @JSM1962,

Thank you for your valued feedback information.

The TP-Link support team would like to investigate the problem, could you please do a favor to collect more information?

What's the current firmware version of your OC200? What's the version of the Omada App, for example, 3.01.5, Android 10?

If possible, could you please provide the MAC address and S/N of your OC200 (you can message me the info if you don't want to reply here) for checking? It would be helpful if you can also tell the time when the OC200 is offline, I'll report this to the senior engineer for further analysis. Thank you for your cooperation!

I'm having the same issue offline and immediately online about 5 times a day everyday, the strange thing i noticed is that in a regular use I don't notice anything probably because it's a few seconds dropdown, but if I'm playing an online videogame that requires constant connection about 30 seconds before I get the offline notification the game disconnects from the server all the times but I don't get any notification from the TL-R605 that WAN is down aswell as there is nothing in the Omada log.

I'm astonished that I found a post talking about this issue since 2019 and this was not yet fixed.

I'm running the latest OC200 firmware, the router is the TL-R605, switch TL-SG2428P + 3xEAP245 + 1xEAP225 Outdoor all at the latest FW version.

I'm using only 1 WAN connection given by a Huawei B818 4G modem/router

Need urgent feedback from TPLINK

THANKS
