TP-LINK TL-SG1016DE + QOS
Hi,
I have brought this Swich for the QOS function.
But i have a problem, when i'm setting-up bandwith control, it will reduce the LAN speed too.
The egress and ingress speed are define for the WAN and the LAN.
How to prevent speed limitation on the LAN?
Or may be i have bought the wrong device, i want to make bandwith control only for WAN.
Bests regards.

Hi,
For the QoS-Bandwidth Control function on the TL-SG1016DE, Ingress Rate = Download Speed, Egress Rate = Upload Speed.

There is no WAN port for the switch TL-SG1016DE but only LAN ports. May I know the purpose of making bandwidth control only for WAN?
What do you mean that it will reduce the LAN speed? Could you please also post some screenshots of your bandwidth control settings?

Hi,
If i set 512kb ingress and 1024 egress, when i will make a local transfert between 2 computers on my lan, the speed will be 512 in and 1024 out on local network. I dont want this. I want to define ADSL egress and ingress for each computer. I Guess, i need a router tplink, instead of the switch i've bought. I thought i could do this with the switch, but to limite ADSL bandwith, it will limite the entire network speed.
Bests, regards.

If you want to rate-limit bandwidth for the ADSL line, you need to do so on the ADSL router. Note also that static bandwidth throtteling aka rate-limiting is not the same as QoS, albeit it appears under the same menu entry on TP-Link switches.

Thank's for your help.
I'll buy a Archer C7, i think it will do the job to limite ADSL bandwidth per IP.
Bests regards.

Hi,

I would suggest you search the model from TP-Link official website and check the UG of the product, or confirm with the local tech support whether it can do the job or not.
