Firmware Version:

Dear forums,

I saw many disuccsions about the limited hardware/AP support of the new SDN software (4.x).

I own two EAP330s (including some other EAPs) since from my perspective it is the fastest one. Equal with EAP245 on 5GhZ but since I have plenty 2,4GhZ only devices, they have more bandwith available.

What is the suggested available (or soon available) comparable flagship or are the figures mentioned above only of theoretic nature? What about the AX3600 / AX1800 APs, they are only shown in the filter but not in the product list.

@mbc123,

EAP330 was an AC1900 (total WiFi bandwdith up to 1,900 Mbps).

EAP265 HD will be a SW-enhanced EAP245 which still provides only AC1750 as its companion model EAP245, but can serve much more clients.

EAP620 HD supports WiFi6 and has many new features, thus it's not directly comparable to an EAP330 or any other AC model by comparing just the WiFi throughput. It provides AX1800 with physical WiFi rates of 574 Mbps @ 2.4GHz and 1,201 Mbps @ 5 GHz.

EAP660 HD also supports WiFi6. It supports AX3600 with physical WiFi rates of 1,148 Mbps @ 2.4GHz + 2,402 Mbps @ 5 GHz. Note that the EAP's Ethernet interface supports 2.5 Gbps. You need an appropriate switch to make use of the maximum (theoretically) possible WiFi throughput of roughly 3,600 Gbps/half duplex over this 2.5 Gbps Ethernet interface (full duplex).

@R1D2 thanks for the reply.

Yes i meant 1900 but on the page it es listed slower. Anyhow I wonder why it gets EOL'd If the more or less comparable ones are not available yet.

But thanks die the compariason.

Regarding EAP245 i saw one same optic as EAP330 and another where it had a more round Design. Are it different HW versions or Just wrong Pictures. First Case would bei beneficial as the mount Plate is Same which i asume to bei different for the AX models?

This was the old »Auranet« line, which was later replaced by »Omada« models. EAP320/330 are EoL for long time now as are EAP120/220.

Remaining questions can answer someone from TP-Link only.
