I'm searching a Switch for my client government, and need know the T1600G-52TS, and T1600G-53PS's Latêncy.

There is no T1600G-53PS, you are talking about T1600G-52PS, right?

 

First of all, I don't think it makes sense to select a switch based on the Latency as which may be affected by actual network environment.

 

Switches operate at the Data Link Layer, which is based on the MAC address to transfer the data. In my view, to determine whether the switch has a better performance is to compare the switching performance of the switch.

 

We can check the Specification of the Switch from the official website when we want to know the switching performance of one Switch, focus on two parameters: the switching capacity (bandwidth/backplane) and the packet forwarding rate. For the packet forwarding rate, it represents the switching performance when the Switch forwards 64 bytes packet.

 

Compare the two switches from TP-Link websites, the following links are for latest version 4 from global website,

https://www.tp-link.com/en/business-networking/poe-switch/t1600g-52ps/#specifications

 

They both have the same Bandwidth/Backplane (104Gbps) and Packet Forwarding Rate (77.4Mpps), seems no big difference on the performance.

There are two obvious differences:

T1600G-52TS is Fanless and not capable of 802.3at/af PoE.

T1600G-52PS has 3 Fans and supports 802.3at/af PoE+ Standard.

 

If you were to select one from the two models, I suggest you choose one based on your network requirements.

For a silence switch, you may select T1600G-52TS, but if you need a PoE switch, select the other.

Thank you very much for the answer, and for the careful explanation! I agree that in practice it doesn't make sense, but in Brazil, when it comes to government, there is no need to make sense :- / If the buyer specifies a number, for weight, width, or even latency, the measure does not need to interfere with the operation of the product to motivate disqualification. So when I can't find a number that the manufacturer didn't consider relevant, I try to exhaust the possibilities, looking for information by other means.
